This week’s video: Summer Streets New York
Summer Streets is an annual celebration of New York City’s most valuable public space—our streets. On three consecutive Saturdays in August, nearly seven miles of NYC’s streets are opened for people to play, run, walk and bike. Summer Streets provides space for healthy recreation and encourages New Yorkers to use more sustainable forms of transportation. In 2013, more than 300,000 people took advantage of the open streets. More, read here.
As you can see my excitement and feelings while biking on the Summer Streets, I’d like to confirm: I LOVED Summer Streets.. Biking no handlebars, in the center of New York, one of the best avenues, Park Avenue, is priceless.. I mean, come on, there is no car.. 🙂 It’s very clean and comfortable.. Yes, yes, sometimes bikers, skaters, kids, etc.. can create dangerous situations but, in the you don’t have the expectation of biking in an empty street. You’re still in New York in the end, so be cautious.
I love summer streets. Can’t wait to go 2015 Summer Streets. (Really? Am I really planning for one year later, summer plans??)
